FISH OIL (RICH IN OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS)



Weekly oiling rituals are a norm in some cultures; some do it more often than on a weekly basis. Having read just about everything from, oiling is good for your hair to oiling does not make a difference to your hair, if you have colored hair you should avoid oiling etc. Aside from the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ of oiling, there is the ‘coconut oil’ or ‘olive oil’ ‘jojoba’ or ‘almond oil’ or is it the Omega 3 Fish oil that should be used. If we do not know the answer to these questions why do we keep oiling our hair ever so persistently and regularly?

After researching the various different kinds of oils, I have concluded that these oils are not only beneficial for the hair, but their exquisite qualities make them excellent moisturizers and ointments for the skin, scalp and hair and now you can find out why.

Omega 3 fish oil offers numerous health benefits addressing around 60 main diseases and other illnesses and symptoms associated with them. Omega 3 fish oil benefits outnumber the advantages of any other vitamin, mineral or antioxidant supplement products available today. This is because of the presence of Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil that are composed of two very essential long-chain fats-DHA and EPA. These fats are good for our health and cannot be produced by the body on its own.

For centuries, losing hair has always been a major concern for men and women. The good news is that fish oil, with Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin A, is good for keeping our scalp and hair healthy. As a treatment for hair loss, fish oil is very useful provided there is no overdose which is why it must be taken as directed on the bottle under the guidance of a physician. Exceeding the prescribed dosage can be dangerous to patients.

Overdose on Omega-3 fatty acids is impossible while eating nuts and plants. The danger comes from vitamin A in the fish oil.  For example, Cod liver oil found in Cod fish is rich in vitamin A, so any overdose can be fatal. It is always advisable to check the label under physician’s guidance before using fish oil. For instance some fish oils may contain high DHA and FPA omega fatty acids and low vitamin A. Also vitamin A content must be checked. Besides treating hair, fish oil also make our immune system and bone stronger and our skin beautiful.
